Thursday- February 26, 2015 This morning, 7 of us went to help Susan Solay and the Solay family with their ongoing project of translating the bible and other publications into Salasaca Quichua. Before the Solay’s came to Ecuador, the native Salasaca tribe had never written or seen their language. The Solay’s are on their 15th year of going in, learning the language from nothing, and creating the written language of Salasaca Quichua. They have successfully translated the book of John from the bible into Salasaca Quichua, so our project this morning was to cut and bind all of the book’s of John. Brining the written language into the church is extremely helpful and important, as the language could be in danger of going extinct.
