Brooke and Anna speaking, the only two high schoolers amongst the many college students. We were very nervous about being the youngest on this trip, but everyone here as been super welcoming and loving towards us.
When we arrived we got the chance to go visit Casa Gabriel and Casa Adalia. It was interesting to get to hear some of their stories, and spend time making and buying jewelery with some of the girls. After that we had a five hour bus ride to Shell, were we'd be staying and working for the week. The bus ride was fun and we enjoyed playing games and getting to know everyone, especially since didn't know anyone. When we finally arrived in Shell we were all very excited to finally get a full night's sleep. The next day we woke up and went to Casa de Fe to play soccer with the kids, then toured the Nate Saint house after lunch. Later that night we had an ice cream social with all of the missionaries in the area and we got to here about what they all do here. Sunday we took the kids swimming and then went to church with them. Monday was the first day of work at Casa de Fe (which you can read about below).
While we have been here we have gotten to interact with many of the local people. "Buenos Dias," "Buenos noches," and "Hola," are our most common phrases we say to them. Seeing all of the cute little kids is definitely our favorite. We came across five little kids sitting alongside the road, so stopped and tried our best to talk to them and Bob bought them all Magnum ice cream bars.
We are excited for the rest of the trip and to see what God has in store for all of us. Please continue to pray for our trip, and that everyone stays healthy and has a great experience!
